On the subject of what the editoralists are saying, it seems to me that the
editorials in the Mercury News (They're deemphasizing the "San Jose" so
they can say they're "the newspaper of Silicon Valley") are almost
uniformly describing it as a broken attempt at deregulation that failed
because it only went halfway. Not everyone will read this message as
"deregulation doesn't work".
