The problem is that they are permanently stuck in Sixties Syndrome Mode,
can't visualize anything realistic, and - in the case of Dr. Hugo de Garis
- aren't acting in a fashion consistent with their own prognostications.

I might also add that, as long as you're wishing for more AI researchers
to study economics, social systems, and philosophy, I'll be happy when a
few of them get acquainted with functional neuroanatomy, evolutionary
psychology, and some book on cognitive science that was written after the
1950s.
