If you absolutely must have a robotic pet this season, this is the one to
get.

Any concerns about the obsolescence of your old-fashioned live cat or dog
are greatly exaggerated. The Aibo ERS-210 will not fetch like a dog, climb
on your shoulder like a bird, or cuddle up with you like a cat. However,
this robotic companion will dance on command, ask to be named, and make use
of the digital camera on the tip of its nose. So, while it's neither cat nor
dog, the Aibo ERS-210 will entertain you in funky robot ways that your pets
have never even considered.

I think I must add "free will" to the list of "consciousness" "phlogiston"
"vitalism" and "mind" as examples of useless hypotheses.
