How does that make us any less individuals? Does it deny the
considerable influence or own decisions and thinking (or avoidance of
same) has on our beliefs and subsequent actions? I don't think so. We
are not completely determined by either our internal workings or our
environment. From the point of view of what we actually do get to
choose and whatever (meager or not) ability we do have to influence our
own life-experience it is quite valid and important to recognize the
sovereign individual.
