"I" am of the same opinion. "I" also think that if we spend too much time
trying to find out what this "I" really is, we could go crazy. In his
book, "Miracle in the Void", Astronaut/Physicist Brian O'Leary identifies
consciousness with the void of space. I suppose that is what "cosmic
consciousness" philosophers have said for thousands of years. If we accept
that theory then what are we to make of a project I came across the other
day? NASA funded; half a dozen PHD physicists trying to develop the
prototype of an engine which will "squeeze" energy (something) out of the
void of space (nothing). But it does start to sound really crazy if you
say you are trying to squeeze energy out of the void of consciousness.
Not that I would say this about O'Leary. I admire his work and the book is
a good read. You could purchase it via <oleary@maui.net>.
