Anybody can lobby congressmen on their own behalf. Anybody can donate campaign
money on their own behalf. Doing both on behalf of others in excess of some x
dollar value requires you register as a lobbyist. This is something I've been
thinking of as well, and there are already several DC based extropes getting
involved in activism there. The upcoming Foresight conference in Bethesda may be
a good site to put together a working group for a DC based political action
comittee...
