Among the books mentioned there, Richard Tarnas' "The Passions of the Western
Mind" (which was recommended to me by Max More) and Robert Conquest's
"Reflections on a Ravaged Century" (recommended to me by Foresight director
Jim Bennett) probably fit the bill you're looking for.
