I'm with you; after all, I'm Davros. Or, I will be if that becomes an
option.(if the reference escapes you, go find some Doctor Who reruns and
watch them with the zeal of a zealot).
I have a slightly different take on it, however; I'd risk death to be
amongst the first with a serious chance of uploading or IA, where those
techniques were likely to turn into positive feedback (read Singularity).
When we last discussed it, I said I'd probably go with it at 10% likelihood
of success (that is, a 90% chance of death as a side-effect). That's how
lowly I judge the utility of being amongst those left behind.
I'm thinking 15% now; maybe I'm chickening out.
