Yes, very simple. The devil, of course, is in the details. Determining guilt
beyond a doubt is not a solved problem. Forfeiting an innocent life is
unacceptable if it can possibly be avoided.

Therefore, life-without-parole should be used until such time as guilt can
be reliably determined.
