Obviously Greenpeace is big, but some of the other endorsers are laughable.
Great Neck SANE is probably a dozen or fewer people, and may be all teenagers.
A few other names also seem similarly infinitesimal.
Can anyone articulate a good rational argument in favor of their position?
(Did anyone protest the militarization of the air when hot air balloons were
first used for aerial reconnaissance? Or the militarization of the sea a few
thousand years ago?)
(Should the presence of any organized predators in a medium count as
militarization? Does a wolf pack count?)
A thot. I suspect that there's a great deal of overlap between people who
want to "stop the militarization of space" and those who would be opposed to
the commercial exploitation of space resources (or even exploitation by an
individual government) on the grounds that space belongs to all mankind.
