Extropians may wish to scan their local PBS listings for two series
by Professor Robert Connolley of UNC chapel hill titled
"Introduction to Macroeconomics", and it's companion series
"Introduction to Microeconomics."

Sadly these are not available on video tape (or better DVD) nor is
there a book available.

Some of the best on PBS since "The Mechanical Universe."

The philosopher Diogenes was sitting at a table eating a simple
dinner of lentils and bread when a lackey of the king wandered by,
"If you were nicer to the king, you wouldn't have to eat lentils
and bread". Diogenes replies, " If you would learn to eat lentils
and bread, you wouldn't have to be nice to the king".
