Mike,
I really enjoyed your story of finding a precambrian era VIC-20 that sounds still ready for use! In storage I have an Atari 800XL with a large library of games that for the time were excellent. Ironically, I bought it a few years ago at a church bazaar and never hooked it up due to some missing cables.
Last week while going to throw out the garbage at my apt. complex I came upon a near mint condition copy of the Timothy Leary book, "Design for Dying." I was quite shocked to see it there in a clean cardboard box next to the dumpster. There was also a little house on the prairie book and the Jehovah's Witness book called, "You can live forever on paradise earth." I left those two there...
I really enjoyed reading the book and got a kick out of seeing Eliezer mentioned in it(must be old news here, but not to me). The end of the book where various people who knew Leary tell stories about him was my favorite. He was a flawed man but still quite brilliant.
I now rush to the dumpster each morning hoping to find another great book in mint condition just waiting to be adopted! Maybe I can get a copy of "The Spike" this way! lol!
best wishes,
John :)
