Arthur C. Clarke stated something related to this, Amara, when
I was still in diapers and you were yet unborn. His comment was
on predicting the future: that futurologists overestimate how different
the world will be 5 years from now and vastly underestimate how
different it will be in 50, something like that.
Since all my archives exist in only the crippleware version {ink on
dead trees} searching out the quote is a daunting task. I fondly
anticipate the day when we work out a new way to pay content
creators, freeing ourselves of the antiquated system which clearly
already fraying at the edges, allowing us to archive all our knowledge
in such a way that it can be effectively searched.
I would cherrfully refer to your quote as Amara C. Clark's law...
