It's that legal pad you carry. The fear of lawsuits is greater than fear of
death...;)
According to Kleck, guns are used defensively 2.5 million times a year, meaning
that the average person will see on defensive gun use, where the gun is at least
brandished. Then you also need to consider the fact that you even have a gun, or
live in an area that is known to be populated by lots of gun carrying people, as
a sort of defensive use, because criminals automatically avoid such people or
areas.
