Like evolutionary theory, psychology is in desperate need of
mathematical models, or failing that, at least some kind of objective
metrics. For instance, if someone is depressed, we need some
kind of device or machine to measure how depressed, and record
conditions and time, etc. Im ever more convinced that science
cannot do much with just words. Bandwidth too limited. Words
are ambiguous, have multiple meanings. Progress in the
soft sciences waits for someone to develop the math, and
from there the computer models to push forward. spike
