For the record, I don't see anything spectacularly insulting about an
accusation of "morphing". I grew up, virtually speaking, in LambdaMOO,
a text-based virtual reality where people changed identities and spoofed
each other at the drop of a hat, so I know not just theoretically but
emotionally that a name means nothing. I get the impression that "Carl"
and "Stan" were heard from before a week ago, so I'm willing to accept
their independent existence as a working theory. But when not one but
two Hotmail addresses I've never heard of start defending someone who
clearly doesn't follow netiquette, you have to expect questions.

It didn't even *occur* to me to take offense when Damien Broderick said
- in print! - that I might be a 71-year-old Brooklyn grandmother, so I
can only assume that Stan and Delaney's extravagant reactions are more
of their usual naughtiness. Either that or this is some kind of
physical-reality thing.
