In general this---that is, selection of and research on relatively specific
topics (individual books, sections of books, papers, et cetera)---might
provide an amount of focus and motivation for many readers of the list.
Some focussed and organized discussion would be, let's say, very useful.
John S. Novak (who regularly posts to the Transhuman list (most recently
issuing some trenchant complaints concerning that list's lack of focus))
has, for example, arranged a discussion forum on [Nanomedicine] at eGroups
<1>. (Several people here are participants.) It seemed to take a while
for everyone to figure out what they were doing but they appear to now be
starting a reading.
