Yeah, guys I was in the Air Force with, when transferred to a base in England,
would frequently ship their cars over there. Because a number of cars got
rejected by the inspectors in England, (and having to pay the shipping fee back
to the US out of their own pockets), the USAF instituted a british level
inspection for cars here so people could find out ahead of time if their cars
would be usable over there, and if possible, fix them up to make them roadworthy
(as autom mechanics/ autobody labor is much cheaper here).
