Has anyone heard of this new series starring Kevin Sorbo yet?
I'm glad to see that trans-human like characters will not be portrayed
in an entirely negative light in this new Roddenberry show. There will
be an 'enhanced' character playing a lead role. He comes from a
neo-species of human who go by the name 'Nietzsheans' (Home sapiens
invictus). From space.com:
"These Nietzscheans originate on Ayn Rand Station, a colony founded by
a geneticist and named after the author of Fountainhead and Atlas
Shrugged. In the Andromeda universe, they represent about 8 percent of
all humans."
I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir here, but quite frankly it gets
really old that we can't portray a future where humans have not only
overcome our social ills but also our physical/mental limitations as
well. I'm still disappointed that the shows creator Mr. Hewitt, is
still going to give them a great deal of ambivalence. What is the big
hang-up with surpassing our current limitations? Why not convey
characters with super-refined emotions, more loving, sane, rational,
intelligent and complex? Hopefully Hewitt will evolve this super-human
character into something we can all aspire too.
