I actually started to read the US v. Alcoa case just to resolve this
dispute, but it got so convoluted that I just gave up. It went on for a
couple of paragraphs of extrutiating detail about which company was first
formed and then sold, merged, acquired, and subsidiarized between various
US, Canadian and European interests. But the bottom line was that the
entity which was found guilty of anti-trust violations was a Canadian entity
committing its acts outside the US.
