Great tip. I immediately ordered two from Amazon.uk for overnighting
to me and Kevin Kelly. Systematic biologists at the California
Academy of Sciences (San Francisco) and Stanford are responding
quickly to the Global Biocensus idea.

So good an idea it's already under way. Long Now is taking orders
for high-finish working replicas of Danny's 9-foot Prototype Clock,
which had its first (and dazzling) public showing at the TED
conference last month. Suitable for living room, city hall, state
capitol, museum, or nuclear waste depository. One million $ apiece,
which has some margin in it to help build the next
generation---25-foot-high "city" Clocks.
