I'd have to say that granpa was right on the money. I don't know how many times
I've been off in the middle of nowhere with transportation problems. I keep a
well stocked toolbox now with a full spare, patch kit, oil & other fluids, etc.
I'd also agree on self defense. Knowing how to fight saved my ass when I got
assaulted by a drug crazed nutjob. I would say that this is even more important
for a woman.

However, waxing philosophical for a bit here, the term 'self defense' means a lot
more than just the martial arts or RKBA. Think about it.
