As the rest of the world catches up with discussions on this list
some might notice "Why We Fall In Love" in U.S. News Feb, 7, 2000.

For the long time subscribers to the EI list, there probably isn't
much new, but its a good condensation for the masses.

Also of interest is mention in the article bylines are the recent
books "A Natural History of Rape" (MIT Press) by Randy Thornhill (biologist)
and Craig Palmer (anthropologosit) and "The Dangerous Passion" by David Buss.

While there are significant questions about the theories in these
books, they give some balance to the "Power/Control" theory of rape
promoted by Susan Brownmiller in "Against Our Will".

The article is careful to point out the spin control that the
mind and experience exert on genetics biases. Of course IMO
the important thing is that we recognize the underlying genetic
biases do exist.
