"Probably?" I don't think so, Doug. Possibly they also put on ski masks
and distill hooch out back using their Daddy's Model A radiator. And
they haven't stopped beating their wives, either. I gave up proving
negatives a long time ago.
Both these companies (at as I identify them) are in the business of
selling hardware. Spamming bozos pitching badly xeroxed schematics with
"R*di* Sh*ck" parts numbers, and the like, are in a different league.
But maybe we're talking about different bozos. Let me shed a little
light on the one of the two companies I know a little about: Ramsey
Electronics.
I've always had a great respect for Ramsey, who have been a big player
in keeping hobby (kit) electronics alive in the US since Heath bit the
big one. Ramsey (I think) might have sold a "Picture stabilizer" *kit* a
long time ago, but Macrovision got them to stop, no fedgoon raid
required.
But another reason the Feds would like to see Ramsey go under is that
they sell a very good quality synthesized FM stereo station transmitter.
F Charlie Charlie would love to whack their peepee, since they don't
want to license or tolerate any broadcasts in that band between 100 mW
and 100W.
To the FCC, the fact that the kits as sold to US customers are only
capable of 100mW final stage power doesn't matter. Avast, ye pirates!
