If you're not already in a graphical environment,
startx.
Read http://www.mozilla.org/binaries.html . At the moment, http://www.mozilla.org/ has links to some of the latest builds, while http://www.mozilla.org/binaries.html has links to even more.
Save the file
mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.gzto some convenient location. [FIXME: Is there a "right" location ???]
At the commant prompt, type
tar -xzvf mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tarto create a folder called "package" and put the Good Stuff (TM) in it.
(Alternatively, the above step can be broken into 2 steps:
gunzip mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.gzto uncompress the file, then
tar -xvf mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar)
Then
cd package ./mozilla -installer(this imports your bookmarks from version 4.x) fill out the annoying form, and away you go !
Then you can start it at any time by running
./mozilla(most desktop environments have a way of associating this with a button so you can start mozilla at the click of a button. For example, ... [FIXME].).
