lambda regulation is the paradigm, any minimal effort to learn about it will be
rewarded by success. you don't have to look too hard to find information,
but it is
a bit complex to try and explain by email.

try any molecule genetics textbook
try the bacteriophage lambda books (Cold Spring Harbor Press? Hendrix editor)
try the primary  literature.
