Something less expensive (I think) than Field's (but probably also less
detailed) is the book:
Human Retroviruses, B.R. Cullen, series: Frontiers in molecular biology,
D.Hames, M. Glover, Eds., IRL Press (1993). 220 pages, 52.95 US dollars.
Focuses mainly on HIV and covers almost all the aspects from
cytopathogenicity and tissue distribution to transcription and
replication. Chapters written by many leading scientists and an extensive
bibliography make this a book worth a look.
Hope it helps. Giovanni.
