Borna Disease Virus

In response to the question of whether BDV of humans can be distinguished from 
BDV of animals.  I saw a URL for a Borna Disease Diagnostic 
(http://www.med.jhu.edu/otl/9329.html).  It also occured to me to do a lineup 
of the Borna Virus Nucleic Acid sequences available in Genbank. They are all 
very similar.  From this information, one might surmise that not only 
antibodies, but PCR primers might very well be cross reactive between human 
and animal viruses.Thanks
