Rare Virus Outbreak in NY

There was a brief news item on the NY Fox TV station last Sunday about an
outbreak of what they called a rare virus on Long Island and other parts
of NY.  I wasn't paying much attention, but I did hear something about its
effects starting in the lower legs.  They showed a lady who they said
would have to undergo long term physical therapy.  The virus can be gotten
over but only after a considerable time.  Anyone catch this report or know
what virus they are reporting on?
