What is virology? (Was- Poor posts)

Clay brings up a  point in stating that posts to this group should directly 
discuss virology.  I would ask what constitutes virology?  Should 
discussions be restricted to viruses (molecular biology/culture/ 
identification) or should they include the manifestations of infection?  How 
about treatment, diagnosis, epidemiology, prevention and control?
