                  SENIOR TECHNICAL OFFICER
                  MICROBIOLOGY DEPARTMENT

We invite applications for this post for appointment as soon
as  possible.    The  successful  applicant  should  hold  a
National Diploma  in Microbiology or a cognate discipline, a
BSc  or   BSc  (Hons)   degree  with   relevant   laboratory
experience.  Horticultural experience, computer literacy and
the ability  to maintain routinely used laboratory equipment
would be  an advantage.   You  will also  be responsible for
maintaining instruments  and equipment, including computers,
managing  the   operation  of   the  plant   growth   rooms,
preparation  of   materials  for,   and  assistance  during,
practicals,   supervising    Departmental   Assistants   and
supervising health and safety services.  The salary range is
R3 008  to R5  191 a month.  For further information, please
