Heavy metal inhibition of virus replication

	Vis-a-vis the antiviral properties of heavy metals, zinc turns out to
be a rather potent inhibitor of picornavirus replication, presumably by virtue
of its very high affinity for the capsid precursor protein as well as the
proteolytically derived capsid proteins themselves.  In vitro, I believe it
can block proteolytic processing at uM concentrations.
