The Fund for the Environment is concerned with the injection of
inadequately treated reclaimed water, from sewage, directly into aquifers.
We would appreciate your views on what you feel might be appropriate
advanced water treatment techniques and monitoring protocols which would
assure the highest drinking water standards, prior to injection into an
aquifer.
Or, if you feel that such water should be used only for non-potable
purposes, please so indicate. Also, if you are aware ot the viral or
bacterial contamination of an aquifer, please tell us about that --
including if remediation was possible and, if so, at what cost.
Many Thanks,
Ellen Stern Harris
