VSV Replication and M Protein

In Rhabdoviridae (specifically VSV) when the (-) strand is transcribed
(copied? changed?) to (+) strand RNA, it is subsequently either used as
a template to make further (-) strand, or it is selectively transcribed.
My question is: if the M protein's binding to the leader sequence is an
important factor in the decision of the polymerase to make full strand
(or to bugger off at one ot the intergenic sequences) is the resulting
full (+) strand coated with M protein ? If so, what is the mechanism for
uncoating the (+) strand to produce a (-) full length strand suitable
for packaging.
