If this is serving as a call for discussion, I'll reiterate that I would
vote against fragmentation of the b.v newsgroup...especially in the case
of ebola (and most regulars in the newsgoup already know why). Traffic in
b.v. (excluding media-induced pandemonium) reaches across many general
groupings of viruses (plant, animal, phages) but not one single group has
shown what could be considered a groundswell of posts to warrant a
subclassification.
Heck..take a look at the bionet.hiv newsgroup - it isn't breaking any
posting records....and this on a virus which has probably the most money
and resources spent on its study worldwide!!
Just my loonie's worth...which is about a cool 12¢ after taxes ;-)
