To the "Elitists":

    Be patient and tolerant of ignorance.  Remember that the interest
    and curiosity lay people may help bring much needed money to 
    underappreciated basic research.

To the "Ignorant Lay People":

    Read, listen, learn.  Experts appreciate thoughtful questions, but
    there has truly been too much noise on this Ebola thing.

P.S.  I am neither an expert in virology or a lay person.  I am a
      practicing Physician who deals with all of you every day.
      This thread deserves to end.
