Wanted: Info on adjuvants

I am interested in information on adjuvants. I realize that they help 
retain antigen for longer a period of time. Do they play a role in 
conformational characteristicof antigens? I am in the vet-bio field and 
am particularly interested in alum & aluminum hydroxide adjuvants. Any 
insights would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
