A remark about paranoia

Let me apologise for yet another article not related to the
biology.virology, but somehow this seems fitting.
First of all, I like other individual on the net generally, am very
dissapointet in the intolerance and actual hatefulness that is reflected
in the used language and argumentation on this net. If anyone feels the
need to flame other people, please go to newsgroups that pride themselves
for doing exactly that. A note to the serious people. Ignore folks who by
ignorance or simple immaturity meddle with your affairs. That is a
politically and socially proven way to get rid of nusiances.
Second, blame the influx of frightened articles on the people behind the
movie "Outbreak". If it were not for that moive, I seriously doubt that
people would care for some Thirdworld deaths.
Third, knock off this ignorant paranoia. The world in general and the U.S.
in particular knows and fights lots of deadly viruses, in addition to
uncounted general - and publicly accepted - menaces (like traffic
accidents etc). Its a part of being alive. It is proven, that the very
common - yet deadly if untreated - bacteria Stafylokokker can become
resistant to the only known effective antibiotica available. This is
anticipated to become reality in just some years, due to the very
widespread use of antibiotica in animal food, which we supposedly eat. So
in the unrestricted search for competetive advantages, we have probably
brought upon our selves a pre-penecilin situation in some years. Way to
go, mankind. So if it comes to that, enjoy the years left to you and let
the people who know go about their work in peace with finding a cure, if
that is possible. Quit paranoia. It's at negative feeling anyway.
Fourth. I think it was on the "Ebola Homepage" that I found a prominent
reference to this newsgroup as The Place to discuss and get information
about Ebola. The Webmaster have assuredly done this in good faith, but it
was nevertheless not very good in promoting the general level of
competence of this group. There might be other incidents of this kind.
Again, sorry for this mail, but it was obviously needed. Feel very free to
delete it in order to improve general seriousity.
