Just curious, but exactly why do you feel there could be difficulties in 
co-administration?  There are really no side effects from acyclovir, for 
instance (for the most part)...so what is your logic for this statement?


--------Non-sequitor warning-------

On a more general note, I have, on occasion, stated that AZT is not that 
toxic because it is ignored by the main cellular DNA polymerases...which 
is true with one exception, Polymerase Gamma, a strictly mitochondrial 
polymerase - strongly affected by AZT  Toxicity from AZT can be 
expressed by reducing the replication of mitochondria, countering muscle 
cell adaptation to aerobic conditioning and reducing the number of 
mitochondria passed on to daughter cells in actively proliferating 
cells.  The trick is balancing the damage with the VERY brief advantage 
against viral RT.
