A friend of a friend of mine passed away earlier this week. He was
a healthy 45 year old black man. Sunday afternoon, while working in
his yard he started feeling sick. Monday morning at 2:00 am he called
my friend and asked to be taken to the hospital. He suffered several
cardiac arrests finally passing away at 9 am. The results of the autopsy
was staph infection complicated with pneumonia. My friend said that the
doctor told him that the infection had gotten into his blood.
How common is this? I've never heard of a bact infection taking someone
so quickly.
My apologies if I am posting to the wrong group. I am aware that staph
is not a virus, but I could not find a bact or a pathology group. If
there is a more appropriate group please let me know.
Thanks in advance for any response.
