Effect of acyclovir on HHV6/HHV8?

Given recent suggestions that human herpesvirus-6 (HHV-6) and/or HHV-8
may mediate disease progression or expression in HIV infected persons,
has anyone seen any studies comparing whether HIV-associated illness
progresses differently in those taking acyclovir (or any of the new
analogs, e.g., famcyclovir, valacyclovir) compared with individuals not
taking these drugs? I confess that I haven't seen evidence that these drugs
have a therapeutic effect on other herpesviridae. If such studies have
not been done, I suspect these data are available amidst the many
treatment trials and just waiting to be analyzed.
