That's the really scary question. Has the original Ebola Zaire virus
mutated in such a way as to now be communicated by air as well as by
contact with the body fluids of those infected? According to the New York
Time, May 12, 1995, page A6, some of the latest cases involve the
infection of family members of health care providers "who apparently
transmitted Ebola virus, one of the deadliest known, BEFORE their (health
care providers) symptoms developed or became severe, or after they left
hospitals in Kikwit..." (empahsis mine). If family members became infected
before health care providers developed symptoms (i.e. no profuse
bleeding), wouldn't that suggest airborne transmission?
