OK, I am sick this. Please take all of your flames and other personal
crap to another newsgroup. This group is not the place for such things.

Please note:

A snip from the biosci FAQ:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Available at: "http://www.bio.net/BIOSCI/biosci.FAQ.html".

  WHAT IS BIOSCI AND BIONET?

BIOSCI is a series of freely accessible electronic communication
forums (i.e., electronic bulletin boards or "newsgroups") for use by
biological scientists worldwide....The system is intended to promote
communication between professionals in the biological sciences....

While the general public may "listen in" to the discussions, these
newsgroups are intended primarily for communications between
researchers. There are other forums on Usenet such as sci.bio
for the asking and answering of biological questions from lay persons.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

While I think this may be a bit harsh, I think that before people come
into this group, they should understand that a bunch of us "academic
types" are here and we use this group for academic stuff (oddly enough).
If you want to be educated about viruses "Fundamental Virology" (Fields,
Knipe) is a wonderful text and it is written at a level that any
highschool student could understand. If you wish to REALLY learn about
Ebola and the other Filoviruses, you might wish to read "Molecular Biology
and Evolution of Filoviruses" by Feldman et al (Arch Virol 1993 (Suppl) 7
pages 80 to 100. Despite its title, it should also be a good scource for
any lay person.

I dont mind "lay people" lurking or posting in this group. But I do mind
people quoting "the Hot Zone" or "The Coming Plague" or "Outbreak" like
they are real science. The two books are are pseudo science at best; they
are long on inflamatory prose and short on real science (but that is what
sells books, if I were Richard Preston, I would have done the same). The
Movie I will not even speak about. If you believe that, I have some
property I want to sell you.... it is a big bridge in a Northeastern
city......

No flames please...
