I think you have a point, although I wouldn't go so far as to say
I LIKE the idea of it...think about it: in every case where a
species has overrun the Earth, Mother Nature comes along with
something to counter the threat.
     The scientists who have studied the extinction of the various
species of the Earth (specifically the dinosaurs) say that the
human race is GREATLY overdue for a population reduction. 
I suppose this is Mother Nature's idea of spring cleaning,
perhaps?!
