Why so few facts about ebola outbreak in Zaire?

It's nearly impossible to underestimate how far Zaire is off the
electronic information superhighway. Parts of Zaire are lucky to have
working telephones and radios, much less internet sites. That may go a
long way to explain why the information flow out of Kikwit and Bandundu
Province is somewhat slower than it would be from New York or London.
It's quite likely that health care workers who went in had to bring their
communications set-ups with them. Plus, international news people are few
and far between in Zaire; there are no Reuters or CNN people standing by.
It'll pick up quickly (this message is probably already out of date).
I've already seen news video from the area.
