All:

By 9:00 p.m. MST I will have posted here a news synopsis of the viral
outbreak in Zaire. In the meantime, please know:

Source: NBC Evening News, Wednesday, 05-10-95
Correspondent: Robert Bazell

"Sources tell NBC News that tests at this maximum containment
laboratory at the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta have confirmed
that the [Zaire] outbreak is due to the Ebola virus, one of the most
deadly infectious agents known to humanity. . . . Experts know the
virus is transmitted by blood, but they worry that there may also be
airborne transmission."

Stay tuned.
Best,
S. M. Fitzgerald
