RESEARCH ASSOCIATE/POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP AND BIOMEDICAL TECHNICIAN
Two positions are available immediately. Depending on qualifications they can
be filled at either Res.Assoc/Postdoc or Technician Level. This is a re-opening
of this search and previous applicants are encouraged to re-apply if still
interested. Project is to study the effects of Influenza virus on macrophage
function with emphasis on understanding changes in intracellular trafficking,
cell signalling events and viral pathogenesis. Video microscopy, digital image
processing and fluorescence spectroscopy will be used extensively for cell
biological and physiological monitoring of virus-cell interactions. A
background in imaging, virology or phagocyte biology is an asset but not
required and training in these areas is available. For RA/Postdoc a Ph.D. in
cell biology, microbiology, biochemistry, or physiology or related field
is required. For Tech positions B.S. with laboratory experience or M.S.
desired. US citizenship is required due to DoD lab requirements. Position
salary and benefits are supported by NIH funded RO1 to Dr. R. Joel Lowy.
