Intergration of HIV genome into host cell?

At this time, integration appears to be rather random with one caveat:  
integration is favored in transcriptionally active regions of the genome 
over quite regions.  Nevertheless, within the active regions integration is 
essentially random.

HIV, like many viruses, demonstrates superinfection immunity, that is, an 
infected cell is generally immune to other viruses of the same strain at 
least.  An unrelated virus could still infect the cell, however.
