Look up S Yokoyama (1991), Molecular evolution of human
immunodefiniciency viruses and related retroviruses, in: Evolution
at the Molecular Level, Selander, Clark, Whittam, Eds., Sinauer
Associates, ISBN 0-87893-818-4.
In order: 400+ years, from monkeys in Africa - and because of
expanding road transport networks in Africa and air traffic into and
out of Africa.
