John Lauritsen is a tabloid journalist with no biomedical training. He
made a career out of writing for The New York Native, a gay tabloid here
in New York City.
The Native has run stories claiming:
HHV-6 is African Swine Fever Virus (it's not)
HIV does not exist.
Everyone has AIDS or will get AIDS.
OJ Simpson should claim the AIDS defense because he has AIDS.
The HIV antibody tests are 80% inaccurate.
Peter Duesberg is "Scientist of the Year."
Lauritsen claims:
HIV is not found in people with AIDS.
HIV is harmless.
AZT kills people on contact.
AIDS does not exist.
People are losing their T cells because they don't eat organic food.
People with AIDS are "welfare cheats"
Women haven't contributed anything significant to history.
The Weekly World News claims:
Satan's skull found in Arizona!
Space Aliens brought AIDS!
Boy Trapped in refrigerator eats own foot!
As a person with AIDS I see no difference between The New York Native,
John Lauritsen or The Weekly World News. On second thought, the Weekly World
News is more entertaining and sometimes they do get a story right!
